Lips: General Tips
When lining lips with a lip liner, never think that drawing it over your actual lip line will make them look bigger and fuller. It makes you look like Jodie Marsh, and let’s be honest, that ain’t a good thing! Think of it as colouring in, don’t go over the lines else you won’t get a gold star.
With lip liner, choose a colour only one shade darker than your actual lipstick, if it’s too dark it looks too harsh, and, well, ridiculous. Two words… Pete. Burns.
Always blend lip liner into your lips to achieve a softer look, use a small lip brush so you don’t smudge!
Beware! Red and orange coloured lipsticks do tend to make your pearly whites, pearly yellow. So unless you’re Jessica Simpson, go easy tiger.
Dark skinned, and darker haired ladies can get away with darker shades o’lippy. But black lipstick? Too far.
When applying lip gloss over the top of lipstick, dab the gloss in the centre of your lips for a subtle shine and to avoid smudging the colour all over your face like when you were 5 and thought you looked like a “real woman”. It wasn’t allowed then, it’s not now.
Don’t over do the old gloss! It goes gloopy, and instead of kissable we get plain sloppy.
Outline lips in either foundation or concealer and rub in, it gives lips a nice, nude colour and fleshy tones also make your lips look bigger! Screw diamonds, we all know concealer is a girl’s true best friend.
Word of warning: ‘Lancôme Juicy Tubes’ ARE addictive. Just thought I should warn you, as they are also, unfortunately very expensive and there IS no way out. But seriously, who needs men?
Vaseline. Enough said.
